Cosm Medical is a medical device company, building a platform to create Personalized Pelvic Health to improve the lives of women affected by pelvic floor disorder. Pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse (POP), urinary and fecal incontinence, drastically affect quality of life, are common (affects 1 in 4 adult women), growing (affects half of all women by 80 years of age) and underserved (stigmatized and traditionally low priority vs other health concerns).
The conservative treatment of POP symptoms is based on using pessaries, which are passive medical devices that are inserted intravaginally to reduce prolapse. Pessaries come in 100+ different shapes and sizes and are fit by trial and error. We are developing a platform to quantitatively measure the anatomy and make patient-matched gynecological prosthetics (Gynethotics™), to manage pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence. Our platform is data-driven, leveraging medical imaging and advanced data analysis techniques (such as artificial intelligence), and employs advanced manufacturing techniques (such as 3D printing).
This company is an alumni.
